A few days have passed since the exam, and the weekend flew by. Jowlani and Zayden spent time being together, talking about their future. And of course, the trip to Altgrön for Zayden, should they both pass the exam. Besides feeling nervous and anxious because of this knowledge, Jowlani has made the best of it.
The pair went out for long walks, played games and hung out with Laura for an afternoon.
Now, we are back on Monday, as the exam results loom over the day.
Everyone gathers at Magician’s Square, as the headmaster holds a speech of their own.
“Welcome students of all levels and classes. Today is that exciting and also nerve wracking day of the examination results. These will give you on an answer on passing or not. Whether that is to the next year, or finishing up your academic route here, it’s always an achievement. I am keeping it short this year before I ramble on about our past valedictorians. I wish you all the best of luck, wisdom and most of all, good health.”
Laura, Jowlani and Zayden stand next to each other as Laura speaks her mind: “So guys, this is it for the journey together this year. I feel that I’ve passed all my classes. Zayden has for sure as well. For you Jowlani.. it’s only Magic Defence 102 of course. But I’m confident that you pass. The pair of “special human beings” stays in Team Laura of course! Good luck, head in when the bell rings and see me back here. Only when you know what you need to know. No panicking anymore ‘Lani, you’ll be fine!”
Jowlani and Zayden head into the grand hall of the university as the bell rings. Last time here, emotions were all over the place during the exams. Now, there’s a sense of calm, even in Jowlani.
They walk towards their results room. Here, they will find out if they can look forward to the future together. Now, anxiety starts to hit Jowlani. He doesn’t want to walk into the room. “Come on, you can do this. I’m with you to see it through. I’m right here.” Zayden smiles, takes Jowlani’s hand firmly and slowly drags him inside.
“You go look first at your results. I’ll wait here. I’m okay.” Jowlani shivers a bit when he lets go of Zayden’s hand. He thinks of all the tools and tips Zayden has given him lately. With a light breathing exercise he is able to feel more relaxed. It doesn’t take long for a smiling Zayden to return from all the result tables. “No problem! I passed all classes. Which means you are stuck with me for another year. Hope you don’t mind that.”
Zayden winks as he says his last sentence. Now the time has come. Has Jowlani passed his exams?
